Artist Statement
This image was taken in January 2007 in the city of Agra, the home of the most iconic temple on the planet, the Taj Mahal. When visiting the temple area we were forced to accept the services of a local guide who had an immensely annoying habit: every twenty seconds he stopped, and told us to take a photo from a particular position and with a particular framing, and wouldn't continue the tour until we had obeyed. In the end I managed to lose the guide, and was able to take some shots on my own. In this one I used the black silhouettes of people visiting the temple to create a frame within a frame.
