Artist Statement

OCEAN DREAMER was taken at a spot that I visit to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The view is often spectacular as you imagine that you are secluded on an island. With this image, I've tried to recreate that feeling of calm and solitude as no land is in sight. You will see the natural gradient of the water as it follows its journey from tapping against the rocks below to the horizon creating a fine line as the ocean meets the sky.

PAUL FLYNN found his way into the arts at an early age. Growing up in the United Kingdom and being the son of prominent North East artist Richard Flynn. It seemed only natural to find ways to be creative. At first, he would be found following his father out into the Farmers Fields of Northumberland to draw the British landscapes. He then discovered his parent's camera and began to take pictures.  In 1990 his family inherited a house in the East Coast of Canada and made the decision to move. Moving to this vast country at a young age was challenging, but the beauty of his new world could only inspire. Throughout his schooling he was very much involved in the arts, trying to perfect his craft.  Paul now lives and works in Toronto, Canada where he's a Production Editor with CTV National News. With a photojournalistic eye, he
uses photography as his creative outlet and can be found wandering the various areas of the city he lives in, eagerly looking for his next shot. Paul sees his work as documentary style photography with a fine art edge.
