Edition Details
This is a c-print on Fuji Crystal semi-matte paper. Edition sizes are as follows;
10" x 8" - 200 editions at $40.00 each.
14" x 11" - 300 editions at $90.00 each.
20" x 16" - 50 editions at $250.00 each.
30" x 20" - 20 editions at $750.00 each.
40" x 30" - 2 editions at $2000.00 each.
All images come with a numbered certificate of authenticiy signed by the artist. Please note that sizes quoted are for the size of the paper, not the image. We do not alter the aspect ratio or edit the artist's original image. All images have a minimum .5 inch white border.
Artist Statement
This cow lives in Bufuka, a small village on the shore of Lake Bunyonyi in south-west Uganda. It is part of a project that tries to portray globablized communities by focussing on Edirisa (the word for window in Rukiga, the local language). Edirisa is a society for promoting Africa, creativity, cultures, and practical skills. The organisation is portrayed through photographing the people, animals and places that contribute to and/or benefit from its existence, in Europe as well as in Africa.
Andrea Stultiens
In her work Andrea Stultiens tries to tell stories. Stories about people and their relation to their environment and stories about the use of photographic images. To do this Stultiens mostly works in long term projects. Sometimes vernacular images are used to add to the narrative possibilities that her own images have. Mostly the projects are presented in book format, since here Stultiens controls the context of the work the most. Nevertheless, Stultiens images also have their own aesthetic qualitites. Looking at the photographs like that, gives the opportunity to appropriate them, and build or project a new world around them.
