This is a C-print on Fuji Crystal semi-matte paper. Edition sizes are as follows;
14" x 11" - 300 editions at $90.00 each.
20" x 16" - 50 editions at $250.00 each.
30" x 24" - 20 editions at $750.00 each.
40" x 30" - 2 editions at $2000.00 each.
All images come with a numbered certificate of authenticiy signed by the artist. Please note that sizes quoted are for the size of the paper, not the image. We do not alter the aspect ratio or edit the artist's original image. All images have a minimum .5 inch white border.
Artist Statement
Taken during a trip to Brussels. Near downtown, in Europe’s capital city, a set of deserted buildings, we plunge into another space, another time... a future time? The vision evolved from a modernity, revealing a thought sometimes skinny, sometimes constrained. Such structures would show what we hadn't to do, although it was the flagship of an architecture.
Gregory Copitet lives and works in Paris. Trained as an architect, which he returned to for several years, during which time this photography was constructed. Although a young photographer, he somehow handles many research projects and orders for artists, designers and architects. His approach is rather slow, quiet and sensitive to what illuminates our lives although sometimes he tries to emphasize our inconsistencies, our wanderings, or what should make us react. "I want to believe that the balance, elegance, good proportion are there before my eyes. We should not deploy forces or fireworks to make an interesting image. Look, line, wait and take it! I'm convinced that the excessive disintegrates our uniqueness, I prefer to emphasize what has disappeared from our attention and what should delight and dazzle us. Urban exploration, space power, research of spontaneous balance and elegance are the underlying focus of my attention. The apparently unnecessary as the ornament fascinates me because it flows naturally and effortlessly, makes the object so produced entirely societal... a sign of presence of conscience." Movies about artificial experiences inspire him. He is preparing a series about Michelangelo Antonioni’s movie, "Blow-up". A reflection about the place of details in Antonioni's works. In Los Angeles, a series inspired by two major films : «Sunset Boulevard» by Billy Wilder and «Mulholland Drive» by David Lynch. And a series called "Grontispiece", to highlight the height of our current politicians.
